Stacking the Shelves #23

Stacking The Shelves, a weekly meme hosted Tynga's Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Happy weekend! So Nikki is at Comic-Con and sent me a list of the books she's gotten over the last couple days. Think I'll be joining her next year for the swag alone.

Why: Again, have you SEEN THIS COVER?! I realized I don't read many with just guys so picking this was hard but when I saw those eyes, that jaw... yeah...

Top Ten Tuesday! Ten Books For Readers Who Like Character Driven Novels

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Sadly we only have nine this week but nine is better than none!

Gone Girl - This book is a two parter and each part concentrated on the two main characters, but in very different ways.

Bridget Jones' Diary - The title says it all.

Looking for Alaska - Another character titled book and this is mostly ALL about Alaska.

We Were Liars - Admittedly, I didn't like this as much as most people, but characterizations were important and made the story.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone - Who is Karou? That is the question.

 

The Beginning of Everything - If it wasn't about Ezra and his groups of friends, then I don't know what it was about at all.

The Geography of You and Me - This book wouldn't work any other way. Even though there are other characters, the main two really drive the story. They are what you're invested in.

Attachments - This is a weird one because two of the characters you only meet through emails throughout the whole book. However, it works.

Geoducks Are For Lovers - This is one of my favorites because it is a group dynamic one. All of the characters are friends and even though one character is the focus, it works best with them all.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
It's another one of those weeks that we don't have much to share. School, life, and work have kept us from doing anything out of the ordinary to share. I am happy to say, however, that my cough is almost gone! I (Keira) am starting to feel human again.

In blog news we have a couple things going on. There are two giveaways under way Books That Need More Attention and the Race to 150 Giveaway. While you're here make sure to check those out if you haven't.

Over the next three months things will be a little bit slower around here. There will be some weeks that we're post heavy, but others where you may only see reviews and a couple features. Classes have Nikki swamped and I'm doing quite a bit of volunteering, plus the holidays are around the corner, so it's a busy time. We're not going anywhere though and didn't want anyone to think otherwise.
