Book Discussion: My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Our first book discussion! This is the book that started it all for us. Our love for this book gave us the idea and focus to start this book club/blog and now we would like to share it with you.

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.
As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

First read for December!

Well hello again,

We've finally started getting a handle on how we are going to get things going. So before I announce what our first book would be for December, a few updates. First, don't forget to follow us! We have bloglovin, twitter, goodreads, google, you can also follow us by email! All those can be found on the sidebars. Second, before we start reading our official first book of the club, we will be posting about the last book (And the one that spurred this idea) we read together, My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. We found a few questions that we answered and it will be the template of how we would go about for the next book, which I will announce now!

Drum roll please...

Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

Yes! The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black will be our first official book. And not only that, we will be reading this book along with the 4th Annual Holiday #Readathon! We've signed up and we will be starting this book on Dec. 6th. For more information about the Holiday #Readathon, visit here.

So look out for our post for My Life Next Door soon.

We can't wait to read with all of you!

Well Hello!

So when you say to your best friend “I think we should make a book club.”, taking into account that you both live states away, and lead very busy lives, you don’t expect, “Let’s do it.", as a response, however, thus was the birth of the Lazy Book Lovers Book Club!

This isn’t a book review blog. This is a book discussion blog. We will pick two books to highlight each month, and anyone is welcome to read along with us. After we finish we will post some of our thoughts, feels, and arguments about the book. Not all of the books we read will be new, but we will try to read what we find available. The books we read will range from young adult to erotica.

No pressure is what we are going for.

Grab a book, or two, or twenty, get lazy and read with us! ~ Nikki & Keira
