Originally, I thought The Deal was going to be it for me. That it was the best hockey book that I had ever read in the world. Okay, maybe not, but I loved it so much. Then The Mistake happened. Usually when it comes to follow up books, they’re either hit or miss. There is no mistake that this was a hit!

This time, we get a bigger look at John Logan, Garrett’s roommate and best friend. In The Deal, we got that Logan had a thing for Hannah. In this, we see how that really tore him up. I felt so bad for him. Watching him beat himself up for liking his best friend’s girl was terrible. Logan threw himself into partying and girls, just to rid himself of the feelings of guilt.

Then there is Grace. I adored Grace. She was so awkward and her lack of filter was amazing. Yes, she was a virginal heroine of the story but something about the way Elle made her not weak and whiney worked to make it not cliché. The way Logan and Grace come together in the beginning was perfect. When they’re watching action movies and really jelling was perfect.

Even more perfect was that Grace didn’t put up with Logan’s shit. She made him work for what he said he wanted. He messed up with her but when he realized it was the biggest mistake he was making, her worked hard to get it.

The sexy times were steamy as well. But that was to be expected. The fact that Grace was inexperienced wasn’t as big a deal as it could have and that also made it nice. But I would have to say my favorite part was when Logan realizes who and what he really wants. Going on this journey with Logan from the first book into this one, you get a well-rounded love of him.

I laughed, swooned, and maybe teared up a couple of times during this one. The drama wasn’t unnecessary and it was a fun read. In the end, all it made me do is fall a bit more in love with Elle Kennedy’s writing.
