Release Day Blitz! First and First by Santino Hassell! (@SantinoHassell)

First and First (Five Boroughs #3) by Santino Hassell
Caleb Stone was raised on the Upper East Side, where wealth and lineage reigns, and “alternative lifestyles” are hidden. It took him years to come out to his family, but he’s still stuck in the stranglehold of their expectations. Caleb knows he has to build his confidence and shake things up, but he doesn’t know how… until Oliver Buckley enters the picture.
Oli is everything Caleb isn’t—risk-taking, provocative, and fiercely independent. Disowned by his family, Oli has made his own way in the world and is beholden to no one. After a chance encounter on New Year’s Eve, Caleb is smitten.
As Caleb sheds the insecurities that have held him back for years, he makes bold steps toward changing his career and escaping years of sexual repression. But for Caleb to take full control of his life, he has to be brave enough to confront his feelings and trust Oli with his heart.

Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.
Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.

Ink & Lies by S.L. Jenning Cover & Blurb Reveal!

Ink & Lies FOR WEB
Ink & Lies
by S.L. Jennings
Releasing February 2016
From International Best Selling Romance Novelist, Hope Hughes, comes a gripping, heartfelt tale of two lovers, fighting for the freedom to… No. Scratch that. Too cheesy.
…two people, torn apart by the tumultuous tides of life, only to discover refuge in… WTF? What does that even mean? DELETE. …two people, confused as shit as to where they should be and who they should love and none of this means a damn thing because it’s all lies! Lies. I’m not Hope Hughes. I’m not some fierce woman romance machine. Hell, I’m not even a woman. I’m a liar. And while I refuse to believe my own BS, deceit masked in heartfelt phrases of love and devotion, I want to make her believe them. Because maybe—just maybe—if she can find the soul within my words, she’ll also be able to find the truth scribbled on my heart. You see, I once lived for the perfect plot twist. I just never expected to actually live it. This is my story. Well, maybe her story. I just wish I could make it our story. The one I’m still writing.

Banned Books Giveaway Hop!

Giveaway hosted by BookHounds & I Am A Reader

Banned Books Week is the national book community's annual celebration of the freedom to read. Hundreds of libraries and bookstores around the country draw attention to the problem of censorship by mounting displays of challenged books and hosting a variety of events.

Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. More than 11,300 books have been challenged since 1982 according to the American Library Association.

More information can be found here & here.

Before I even knew about Banned Books Week, I realized that a lot of books I was drawn to were on the list. It is a shame to see that works of art are challenged but thankfully, we bring light to them.

There are three books I absolutely love and they just happen to be on the list.

The Color Purple, by Alice Walker
Reasons: Offensive language, sexually explicit, unsuited to age group.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky
Reasons: Anti-family, drugs, homosexuality, offensive language, religious viewpoint, sexually explicit, suicide, unsuited to age group.

Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell
Reasons: Use of profanity and its treatment of sexuality.
This giveaway is open to US/CAN entries ONLY and will end October 4th at 12:00 AM EST. The winner will have 48 hours to respond to their email before we choose another winner.
