Waiting on Wednesday #10

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

So Keira just started her second vacation to Nashville while I sit here at work. Jealous? Little bit. Either way, lets all be jealous of books we don't have yet and are waiting for.

Title: Vanishing Girls
Author: Lauren Oliver
Release Date: March 3, 2015

Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.
In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.
I haven't read anything by Lauren Oliver that I hated. She's great at capturing the reader's attention and holding it until the very end. This new title sounds dark, and seeing as that's what I'm into these days, I can't wait to read it.

Author: Ann Aguirre
Release Date: August 26, 2014

Nadia Conrad has big dreams, and she's determined to make them come true—for her parents' sake as well as her own. But between maintaining her college scholarship and working at the local day care to support herself, she barely has time to think, let alone date. Then she moves into a new apartment and meets the taciturn yet irresistible guy in 1B….

Daniel Tyler has grown up too fast. Becoming a single dad at twenty turned his life upside down—and brought him heartache he can't risk again. Now, as he raises his four-year-old son while balancing a full-time construction management job and night classes, a social life is out of the question. The last thing he wants is for four noisy students to move into the apartment upstairs. But one night, Nadia's and Ty's paths cross, and soon they can't stay away from each other.

The timing is all wrong—but love happens when it happens. And you can't know what you truly need until you stand to lose it.
For the last week or so I've been seeing this book pop up on so many people's lists. I finally looked it up and was like YES I NEED! I mean, how can you turn away from a book (and its sequels) named after Backstreet Boys songs? You can't and neither can I.

What are you waiting for this week? Like our picks? Hate them? Let us know!

Until next time!

  2. I hated Lauren Olivier's "Delirium", so I have been wary about trying her other books. "Vanishing Girls" looks really creepy and intriguing, though. I might give it a shot.

"I want it that way" looks really good, even though I usually am not much for romance novels. It seems to lack the romance tropes that make me dislike the genre, so I'll be checking this one out, as well. Thanks for stopping by m WoW

  5. I'm a little skeptical of this one because me and Oliver's books have a love/hate relationship. Great pick! I can't wait to see reviews for it.

  8. I want to read both of these books! Lauren Oliver's books are automatic additions to my to-read list. Despite not loving the only Ann Aguirre book I've read, I'm excited for her new trilogy and her new YA book. :) I hope you two love these books when you get to read them!

  15. I am SO excited for Vanishing Girls, because I kind of love Lauren Oliver. As for "I Want It That Way"... well, after seeing these books everywhere, I cannot stop singing 90's boy band songs. I can't even stop humming them long enough to figure out what the books are actually about ;) Great picks, hope you love them when you get them!

  18. I haven't read Lauren Oliver yet and I'm not really sure if I'm going to be picking up any of her books soon but I hope you'll enjoy this one when it comes out. That cover is wonderful, btw! :)

I've read a promising review of I Want It That Way and even read that the titles of the series are a shout-out to Backstreet Boys (I remember my childhood LOL :)) so I think I'm going to watch out for this one.

Thanks for sharing, you guys, and for stopping by my WoW :)
