OMFG Tillie Cole, this woman is amazing. Her books just hit you deep down in your soul. I have read the other 3 books in this series and as Flame is my favorite, I do believe Cain “Rider” could possible take his spot.
If you have read the first three books, which you should have, then you know we are now following Prophet Cain and his journey from hell and back. We follow Cain as he left the Hades Hangmen and reunited with his twin brother Judah. Cain is now realizing that being the next Prophet and all the duties that in tales with it is not something he wants. He tries to change the ways of his people and stop the brutal, disgusting ways they were brought up. Judah is not happy with this and throws Cain in a cell and away from their people till he repents.
That’s when he meets Harmony. There is a crack in the wall of the cell and he can see and hear her on the other side. Harmony is classed as a “Cursed” and will marry Judah, who has taking over being the fake Prophet Cain. Harmony has lived her life in Puerto Rico hiding out from the New Zion until they are all called in to all be together. Harmony is kept in a cell next to Cain and they form a bond together as they talk every day and ever y night to comfort one another.
Cain is beaten to an inch of his life just about every day and Harmony can’t take it anymore. He is brought back into his cell one day and she asks her guards to be taken into his cell to tend to his wounds. That is when she notices that he looks exactly like the Prophet Cain she has met and is being forced to marry. That’s when the truth all comes out for both parties.
This is an emotional roller coaster of a book. My heart plummeted at least a dozen times while reading this book. Get a box of tissues when reading this book.
Tillie’s writing is absolutely beautiful and captures you with the first sentence, I couldn’t put this book down and will now patiently wait till the next one comes out, it will be hard.
Tillie Cole hails from a small town in the North-East of England. She grew up on a farm with her English mother, Scottish father and older sister and a multitude of rescue animals. As soon as she could, Tillie left her rural roots for the bright lights of the big city.
After graduating from Newcastle University with a BA Hons in Religious Studies, Tillie followed her Professional Rugby player husband around the world for a decade, becoming a teacher in between and thoroughly enjoyed teaching High School students Social Studies before putting pen to paper, and finishing her first novel.
Tillie has now settled in Austin, Texas, where she is finally able to sit down and write, throwing herself into fantasy worlds and the fabulous minds of her characters.
Tillie is both an independent and traditionally published author, and writes many genres including: Contemporary Romance, Dark Romance, Young Adult and New Adult novels.
When she is not writing, Tillie enjoys nothing more than curling up on her couch watching movies, drinking far too much coffee, while convincing herself that she really doesn’t need that extra square of chocolate.
