My Rating:

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet, while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn't look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.
Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision--a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

When I read The Air He Breathes, I was blown away. Something about the angst and the love story that blossomed from that had me breathless. When I learned that there was going to be another story in the series, I jumped at the chance to read it. After, I was left more torn than anything.

First, I'll start off by saying, I did like the story. I didn't hate it and want to bash it. It was a story about Logan and Alyssa. Logan on the outside was the bad boy that Alyssa needed to know more about. And when she did find out more, he was much more than the tarnished exterior. Logan and Alyssa become best friends and best friends who are in love with each other. But Love to Logan isn't such a great thing.

This story has a lot of moments of hurt. For me, sometimes too much. You had the sadness between Logan and Alyssa. Then there were times between Logan and his mother and father. You also had Alyssa and her family. And on top of that, Logan's brother had drama! At times, I felt a little overwhelmed by it all.

However, with all the different tangents, I got to enjoy some of the relationships presented. I wasn't that big of a fan of Logan and Alyssa. To me it was like bringing "Own brand of heroin" quote to life. Who I did enjoy the most was Kellan and Logan. I thought that their bond as brothers was amazing.

Overall, I would have done with a little less of the gloom and doom and really liked to see more of the love between Logan and Alyssa bloom outside of their need to save one another.

Brittainy Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She loves to take part in writing screenplays, acting, and dancing--poorly of course. Coffee, chai tea, and wine are three things that she thinks every person should partake in! Brittainy lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. When she's not running a million errands and crafting stories, she's probably playing with her adorable pets.
