Book Beginnings & The Friday 56 #16

"Book Beginnings" on Friday is hosted by Rose City Reader, the meme encourages to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book.

"The Friday 56" is also a weekly event, hosted by Freda's Voice, where you find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you from page 56 or 56% in your book/eReader (If you have to improvise, that's ok.)

I fail this week. My book beginning and 56 are the same as last week since I've not had much time to read, so it's just Nikki this week. She has a good one though.

Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad
"There are very few things that can kill the buzz of postsex mellowness."

I immediately start laughing and then start to think of the things that could kill the buzz. I'm excited to keep reading.

"You can clean it up, but that doesn't change what it is, Dovie." "Are we talking about the apartment or you, Bax?" I moved my finger down so I could run it across the plush pout of her bottom lip. "Either or. I'm not going the ever be a good guy, Copper-Top."

Until next time,
