Sunday Post #13

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

There are weeks we have tons to share and weeks we don't really have anything, and I think, I'm going to bore these people to death with my drone. This is one of those, not-much-to-say-weeks, but I'm going to talk anyway. LOL

A couple weeks ago I told you all that I was coaching JV cheerleading. Well, after a pretty stressful practice this week - kindergarten through third graders running amok, we cheered our first game yesterday and it went so well! Our varsity girls team won 31-11. While I always try to teach my daughter that it isn't about winning or losing, let's be honest, it feels pretty freaking good to win.

Nikki, shockingly enough, had a pretty dull week, too. She's back in school and loaded down with homework, but she did wiggle in some time to go see The Maze Runner, which she liked a lot. She's also become obsessed with Arrow. If any of you have ever binge watched a series, you know how consuming it can be, especially if you love it.

Just a reminder, the Race to 150 Giveaway is in full swing. Only 42 GFC followers until the winners are picked!

Also, if you're interested in doing a guest review, we would love to have you. Fill out the form here.

Monday, Sept. 8th -

Chandler Raines and her “dad” are on the run. Never staying in one place for very long. It’s just not safe. When they arrive in Lafayette, Louisiana, Chandler quickly realizes this is the place she wants to call home. Friends, a cute boy, and competitive cheerleading have her taking dangerous risks to have the life she always wanted. Risks she promised she wouldn’t take. When her lies catch up to her, a decision has to be made. Stay or run? Will the evil that’s chased them for the last four years catch up to them? When Chandler’s past comes screeching into the present she’ll have to sacrifice everything to keep what she loves safe. But will it be enough?

Tuesday, Sept. 9th -

Sam McKenna’s never turned down a dare. And she's not going to start with the last one her brother gave her before he died.
So Sam joins the first-ever class of girls at the prestigious Denmark Military Academy. She’s expecting push-ups and long runs, rope climbing and mud-crawling. As a military brat, she can handle an obstacle course just as well as the boys. She's even expecting the hostility she gets from some of the cadets who don’t think girls belong there. What she’s not expecting is her fiery attraction to her drill sergeant. But dating is strictly forbidden and Sam won't risk her future, or the dare, on something so petty...no matter how much she wants him.
As Sam struggles to prove herself, she discovers that some of the boys don’t just want her gone—they will stop at nothing to drive her out. When their petty threats turn to brutal hazing, bleeding into every corner of her life, she realizes they are not acting alone. A decades-old secret society is alive and active… and determined to force her out.
At any cost.
Now time's running short. Sam must decide who she can trust...and choosing the wrong person could have deadly consequences.
Wednesday, Sept. 10th -

One man obsessed with power.
One woman prepared to sacrifice everything to stop him.
One war that changed the world.
“Eric Dane has segregated the wealth and resources that remain, giving a select few the highest chance of survival and leaving the rest to starve!”
World War 3 lasted twelve days and almost eradicated the human species. Growing up in post nuclear America, Rebecca Davis remained blissfully ignorant of the despotic leadership that had seized what was previously the most powerful nation in the world. When the truth is revealed and Rebecca discovers that everything she has been taught is a lie, she is determined to fight for the life that she has not been allowed to live.
In order to do this, Rebecca has to cross the boundary fences and venture out of the safety of the New United States, into the barren wastelands. It is there that she finds allies she never dreamed existed.
In Rebecca, the Resistance has finally found the ultimate weapon.
“You were given this life Rebecca, because you alone are strong enough to live it.”
An action-packed, adrenalin inducing thrill ride that will have you riveted until long after you have turned the last page.

Guest Book Review: Drawn - Drawn: Redemption by Lilliana Anderson

Saturday, Sept. 13 -

This week's Thirsty Thursday topic is.... Tear Inducing Goodbye. This will be a tough one for me. I'm a softy, so picking a scene, let alone book, will not prove easy.

Our discussion for This is Where I Leave You is happening this week, as well. Make sure to stop by for that!

Have a great week!

  1. I love the Coldest Girl in Coldtown so much! My kids are six and two. If anyone asked me about my life the answer would be so simple; kids and books. LOL Nikki and I met six years ago. We were both fanfic writers and heavy into the Twilight fandom. We became fast friends, and though she's in NY and I'm in Florida, she's now my closest friend. More like a sister, really. :)
