Stacking the Shelves #12

Stacking The Shelves, a weekly meme hosted Tynga's Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I love weeks where I'm certain I don't have one book to share, only to see that I've acquired a couple hands full without realizing. It's funny how getting books is almost as addictive as reading them. I suppose they go hand in hand. Anyway, I'm curious, what's new on your shelf this week? 

 Butterfly Kill by Brenda Chapman - My current read. It's been a long time since I've read a detective novel, and this one is living up to my best expectations thus far. From the very first chapter this book gripped me and has held on tightly.

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins  - As our Book of the Month is Stephanie Perkins' Anna and the French Kiss, I have spent plenty of time on the Goodreads pages surrounding that book. Would you believe that until that point I had no idea there was a #2 and a #3 on the way?! I was ecstatic to find out about Lola and can't wait to read!

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan - I recently finished Every Day by David Levithan and really appreciated his writing style. Having read John Green's other books, I want to believe I know what to expect, though, in my experience with books that is rarely true. Hopefully I love this as much as I love the writing in these two authors solo works.

Guy in Real Life by Steve Brezenoff - The cover made this a must have!

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson - I read a few reviews on this title after having it recommended to me and it sounds amazing!

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness - When A Discovery of Witches was first released I remember walking into Barnes & Nobles with the intent to buy. However, after seeing the $28.00 price tag and reading the less-than-stellar reviews I decided against it. Since then I have learned not to let other people's opinions affect my own. And to my surprise, A Discovery of Witches hardcover was on sale at Barnes & Nobles online for three bucks! How could I resist?

The Merciless by Danielle Vega - I recently finished this book. Holy TWISTED. If you're looking for horror with a side of Mean Girls this is the book for you.

The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (J. K. Rowling) - After hearing so many good things about Silkworm I decided to pick this up first. I've been really into the idea of mysteries and things that spook lately.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo - Word of mouth says that this book is phenomenal. I'm very much looking forward to adding it to my list of great series.

Make It Count by Megan Erickson - Nikki did a rave review on this book not too long ago and I've been meaning to grab a copy, but didn't until now.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - No  matter how many times I look at this cover I swoon. Surely I can't be the only one? There is so much talk about this series right now around the blogosphere. With #1.5 and #2 being released soon this title seems to be on the tip of everyone's tongue!

Wait for You by J. Lynn - This was on Nikki's shelf last week and after reading the synopsis I needed to try it. I go through spurts with NA where I *love* it for a few months then I'm just blah with it and want a new formula. I'm hoping to love this and a few others I have my eye on.

When Mr. Dog Bites by Brian Conaghan - A friend of mine was reading this and telling me bits about it. It sounds really different and funny.

Puddle Jumping by Amber L. Johnson - Both of us already pre-ordered signed copies of this book but I just had to have it for my kindle as well. So I got it before the other comes in the mail.

Where I Belong by J. Daniels - Last week I had gotten Sweet Addiction by the same author, and loved it. So I figure I should at least start her next series.

Boomerang by Noelle August - I don't know what it is about dual authors and NA but I love the combination. This being one of my Summer TBR books, I'm excited to dive into it.

Every Day by David Leviathan - Keira and everyone else I know who has read this book has raved about it. Finally I'm putting it on the TBR pile.

Landline by Rainbow Rowell - I had gotten and ARC of this back in March but this week I went to the launch party and finally got a final copy of it. It looks and feels so pretty. Really a great read.
