Sunday Post #11

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Normally at this point in the week I'm (Keira) thinking about Monday and hanging on to the last few hours of the weekend, but WOO-HOO, three day weekend, so none of that. The last week was a bit crazy. My daughter started first grade three weeks ago, so we're trying to adjust, while adding a few new things into our schedule. I've taken on coaching her JV cheer squad, with a couple of the other moms from her class, so getting into the swing of things has been different, but a welcomed different. I'm sure once we fall into a routine I won't feel so all-over-the-place.

Every week I ask Nikki if there's anything she wants me to share with you guys. As you know she's always doing something, be it a book/celebrity signing, a play, a convention, whatever. This week I got a list, so instead of paraphrasing, I'm just going to quote her.

"- I got Kindle Unlimited. I don’t know if that is the best idea ever or the worst because I can foresee my TBR list becoming so big it ends up with its own zip code.

- I’m hella nervous about starting school again on Tuesday after a year of not going. I’m taking Fiction Workshop and Children’s Literature.

- I watched Neighbors and Dave Franco has solidified himself as the man of my dreams.

- I have also come up with something that is like a book hangover. I am now book tipsy. I can still read other books, but Rites of Passage is STUCK IN MY HEART AND BRAIN.

- I’ve officially started the countdown till November 24, that is when I get to go to Orlando!!

- And I think I’m too old to watch the VMA’s anymore. Sad sad day."

I'm super excited about November 24th, too. A week with my best friend? Yes and please.

In blogish news, our Race to 150 Giveaway is still underway, so don't forget to check that out. Also, we're always looking for guest reviewers. If interested you can fill out the form here.

We all have someone who crossed our path and fundamentally changed us. That one person who blew through our lives, their presence forever stamped on our psyche. They linger in our thoughts, in our hearts, and in the decisions we make. A soul crusher or a dream maker, depending on the perspective.
My person is MISTER BLACK.
I didn’t know him by that name when I first met him.
I didn’t know him at all, but the impression he left behind was just as powerful as the name I call him today.
He is Black: a deadly enforcer and masterful seducer.
I am Red: a justice bleeder and willing participant.
Together we are passion. Colors colliding through each other’s lives.
When our secrets converge in a passionate encounter,
stepping out of the shadows just might be worth the risk.

In this electrifying novel from Cassie Mae, two close friends surprise themselves by shifting from platonic love to sexual attraction.
Eric Matua has one friend—his best friend and childhood sweetheart, who needs a place to stay for the summer. Mia Johnson has thousands of friends—who live in her computer. Along with her email chats and Facebook notifications, Mia also devours romance novels, spending countless hours with fictional characters, dreaming of her own Romeo to sweep her off her feet. When she starts receiving supersweet messages from a stranger who thinks she’s someone else, Mia begins to believe that real love is possible outside her virtual world.
When the two friends become roommates, Mia finds herself falling harder than she ever thought she could. But Eric keeps his desires locked away, unsure of himself and his ability to give his best friend what she deserves in a boyfriend. As her advances are continually spurned, Mia splits her time between Eric and her computer. But she soon realizes she’s about to lose the only real thing she’s ever had.

Jasmine’s life wasn’t normal for a 16 year old girl. It hadn’t been normal since the murder of her older sister, Daisy, two years ago. Her life had been changed forever. The monster that murdered Daisy was never caught. That was the reason her family decided to move away from their hometown in Southern California, to start over. Hopefully in a place where the last name Rourke wouldn’t bring on staring or judgment or morbid curiosity. In Lafayette, Louisiana things are quite a bit different but in a good way. Good manners, Cajun accents and a whole lot of Southern Hospitality all make her think things are going in the right direction. On top of that the most gorgeous boy she has ever met is interested in her. Her new friends are better than she could have hoped for even if she is worried about what they might think when they find out who she is. Life would be perfect if odd things didn’t keep happening. Creepy phone calls, texts, and flowers in her locker start adding up quickly to something terrifying. Could the Monster have followed them to Lafayette? Was he coming after her this time? Maybe she was just worrying unnecessarily…or not.

  4. I love Nikki's list! I'm too old for the VMAs too. It's sad to realize I'm no longer the trendy market target but I think I'm okay with it. Sounds like things are a bit crazy Keira! I coached my daughter's soccer team for years and there were so many benefits to that that lasted for years! I got to really know a lot of the kids. Have a great week you two!
