What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.
As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

I’ve read a lot of NA books this year and I can say that this is one of the top ones.

The story starts with an awkward morning after that felt like it was ripped right out of a Drew Barrymore movie or similar. Gone is the usual shy and virginal female protagonist that is a staple for the new adult genre. Instead we get Mia, a confident and goal oriented young woman who is okay in her own skin and waking up without her panties.

Then there is Ethan. Oh Ethan. There is so much to say about this guy. Mia does a lot of talking about how perfect he is and vise versa so I won’t go into it but he is described as nothing short of a god. (Though he was slightly colorblind)

When I first started this, I thought I had it pretty much figured out. Then in comes the kicker, and what I think really kept this going, they didn't fall madly in love in the beginning. They ended up competitors for the same job! And there is a no dating policy! Like… come on! Again, I thought I knew what was going to happen; there was going to be loads of stolen moments and secret sex. WRONG! This story had a lot of sexual tension and I think that was the glue that held it together. You wanted Ethan and Mia to get together just as badly as they wanted to be together.

Everything wasn't sunshine and roses though. There was real heartache and history that underlined Mia’s personal story. Her relationship with her parents and grandmother was something I was happy to see play out.

This felt fresh and gave the new adult genre a kick in the butt. Not everything has to be about sex. Before sex there is always attraction.
